Software should serve
the person using it.

Not harvest from them. Not lock them in. Not hold their files hostage until they pay again next month.

Somewhere along the way, software stopped being a product and became a service. The tools you used to buy once now charge you every month — not because the work changed, but because recurring revenue is a better business model. For the company.

The deal used to be straightforward. You paid for something. You owned it. It worked. It kept working. Nobody came back the following month asking for more money to keep the lights on.

That deal is mostly gone now. In its place is a different arrangement — one where your files live on someone else's server, your workflow depends on a company staying solvent, and the price can change whenever they decide it should. You are not a customer in this model. You are a recurring revenue line.

We built FirstLocal differently.

Every tool in the FirstLocal suite runs entirely inside your browser. Your files are processed on your device, by code running on your machine, with no data sent to any server. Not ours. Not anyone's. When you drop a PDF into LocalPDF or paste a contract into ClauseGuard, it never leaves your computer.

You pay once. You download a single HTML file. You open it in any browser and it works — today, next year, ten years from now — without an account, without a subscription, without anyone's permission.

We think that's how software should work.

01

Your files belong on your device

Every time you upload a file to a web tool, you are trusting a stranger's server with your data. We built tools where that trust is never required. Nothing you work with ever moves beyond your machine.

02

One price means one price

When you buy a FirstLocal tool, you own it. We do not offer a free tier designed to frustrate you into upgrading. We do not raise prices on existing customers. You paid once — it's yours.

03

Privacy is not a premium feature

Most tools make privacy something you pay extra for. We made it the default. There is no "private mode" to unlock. Every tool, at every price, processes everything locally. That is the product.

04

Good software does not need your email

No account required. No profile to create. No onboarding sequence. You open the file and use it. We built our tools to work for you immediately, without asking for anything in return.

The five-year cost of a subscription tool is rarely what you paid for the first year. The five-year cost of a FirstLocal tool is whatever you paid on day one.

Who this is for.

FirstLocal tools are built for people who handle real work on their own devices — creators negotiating brand deals, freelancers managing contracts and invoices, professionals working with sensitive documents they would never trust to a cloud service.

They are for people who have looked at their monthly subscriptions, added them up, and felt something between frustration and disbelief. People who remember when software was something you bought, and who believe that model was better — for users, if not for investors.

They are for anyone who has ever read a privacy policy and thought: why does a PDF tool need to know this about me?

Where we are going.

The FirstLocal suite is small right now and deliberately so. We would rather build a handful of tools that do exactly what they claim than a sprawling platform that does everything poorly. Each tool gets built when we can build it properly — with complete offline functionality, a clear privacy model, and a price that makes the subscription alternative feel absurd.

If you agree with any of this — the tools are waiting.
